We are all drawn to different things... at different times... for different reasons.
We are not meant to sustain on the same thing for all of our days.
Each offering here will bring a different kind of medicine to your life practice.
May you discover many roads into yourself.

Afro-Caribe Unleashed ~

Afro-Caribe Unleashed is a newborn offering from  Eulanda Shead and Raquel Cecil... a  natural outcropping of years spent deep in the practices of African & Latin Dance, passionate choreography & the thrill of teaching & performance.  This is a unique, high energy, "more dance than fitness" class.  It's your passport straight to the Caribbean!  The music and the moves are African, Latin, sexy and sultry.  The energy is intoxicating and contagious, with just the perfect combination of naughtiness!  Wind it up, grind it, sweat and have fun!   All levels are welcome.   Be prepared to challenge yourself!  This class can be done in soft soled dance shoes or barefoot if you prefer.

Continuum Yoga ~

The body is a weave of  many structures and  frequently we  assume our  bones to be what offers support.  Yet, the fluids... and our fluid nature... is equally supportive.  When we give our selves to this river like force, we can't help but  find our own sense of flow.   Asiana is a gifted facilitator that effortlessly helps to access this soft, supple and fluid strength in the body.  This yoga class is a gateway into the wisdom of water in us... the surge, ebb, flow and float of us.  With the perfect blend of movement and pause, it dissolves our hard edges and leaves us ready to puddle.  The perfect end to a Monday.

Grooves, Grit & Grace ~

From Soma founder, Jessica Wolf ~  "I taught Nia for years.  And in my heart's understanding of what Nia is, I still do.  But I've always loved playing outside the box and sticking to a prescribed routine is not my strongest suit.  The new name  on my (once Nia) classes is simply a way to allow for the freedom to deviate, create and honor the inspiration that I have gleaned from so many sources and continue to find in the everyday.   In this class, you'll sense the influence of  Nia, Yoga, Soul Motion, tribal &  ecstatic dance practices.   You'll get a chance to tap into many textures of being, through music and movement from the world over .  My hope, is that this hour leaves you with a broader view, a lighter  heart and a deeper connection to your humanness. The goal, always, is to be more fully alive and attuned to our true physical nature."

When Jessica is traveling, this class will be substituted with a Nia, Soul Sweat, Planet Motion or Zumba facilitator.

Hatha Yoga ~

The classical approach to yoga holds asana (postures) as one of the 8 limbs of a comprehensive yoga practice.  This aspect is foundational for the exploration of yoga's greater depths.  In this class, we study asana, breath and a bit of meditation aimed at improving flexibility, balance, vitality and clarity of mind.  The postures range from stationary to a vinyasa flow style and are suitable for all levels.  Explore your body as a sacred vehicle by inviting a deeper relationship with yourself  and improved, overall well-being.

Morning Practice ~

This class is a blend of gentle yoga, pilates, breathwork and guided meditation.  It's pace is slow and mindful, geared to wake, center and cultivate the energy of presence.  A perfect entry... into your day... or the Soma Movement Journey  that follows this class.

Nia ~

Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from disciplines in the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts.  Steeped in the principle of the Joy of Movement, Nia empowers a connection of body, mind, emotion and spirit.  Each class is a unique blend of 52 moves, geared to access the main areas of the body: the base, core and upper extremities.  Highly adaptable and inherently non-impact, Nia is friendly to all fitness levels.  Classes are done barefoot, to soul-stirring music.  Come... engage the senses and discover the body's way.

You can find more information on Nia at  www.nianow.com  and information on other local classes and instructors at www.niacolorado.com .

Soma Movement Medicine ~

This class is an opportunity to dive a bit deeper into some of the healing gems available through conscious movement.  Utilizing practices from many disciplines, this class brings us from the fitness realm into new experiential territory with the body.  The wisdom of the elements, rhythms & textures, archetypes, relational posturing, ecstatic trance practices and contemplative movement are but a sampling of what we explore together.  Every class is it's own adventure... and a 'workout' of a different kind.  At times, the week's focus will be noted on the schedule... and others... it emerges in the moment.

Soma Movement Journey ~

Jessica guides this class from a place of intuitive surrender to the music, the day and the 'tribe du jour' present in her midst.  That's the way of the journey.  Step in and see where it takes you.  There's something special about moving together on Sunday morning.  The inherent invitation to dedicate the day to celebration, rest  and devotion to a higher Self is not lost here.   And so it got it's own name.   We step into a dance with form and freedom, inquiry and receptivity.  We drop in to ourselves and the mirror in each other.   We emerge... renewed.

If you need a little more  definition... read the descriptions for Grooves, Grit & Grace, Movement Medicine and Morning Practice... throw them all in a mixer and shake em up.

Vinyasa Yoga ~

Vinyasa Yoga is a practice of sequencing and flowing... from posture to posture... on the current of the breath.  Each pose and pause explored is linked to an exhale or an inhale, entraining the body to weave breath and movement into one action.  Once woven, it feels like a dance that borders on stillness.  A vinyasa practice can be done fast or slow.  Here at Soma, we don't come close to the pace of the 'power yoga' of the western world.    You will be invited into yoga's medicine of expanse by  residing in a natural rhythm that does not include rush, hurry or overactive will.

Yoga Foundations ~

This introductory yoga class is held in a space of compassion and encouragement for bodies new to Yoga.  That being said, Christine is mindful of students progressions and there are many who have been attending regularly for years.  Step in for the first time, or continue to grow your practice with this down to earth offering.
